Benefits of Fishing

Well the little rodent says that we are going to have six more weeks of winter.  That tells me that I am going to be fishing in the cold.  If you have never fished before you won’t understand but those of you who have, well you understand totally.

Fishing is something that can be shared among friends.  It is a way to get together and enjoy each others company and catch up on old news.  It is relaxing and a good way to recharge your spirit.  It is a great place to find yourself and cleanse your spirit of all the negativity that has latched onto it.

We have been on a couple fishing trips and we all three graduated together so there is always lots to talk about and we always have a good time.  A fishing trip is one hell of a friendship bonding agent.  We try to schedule a fishing trip at least once a year.  it is always a good time.

Catfish Kid strikes again.

One thing I love about fishing is you can share it with the young-uns.  Me and the Catfish Kid caught some fish.  He sure does love to fish so we have drowned a bunch of worms.

Last but not least.  If  you have never been fishing on the river before, the scenery can blow you away.  One of my favorite times on the river is in the fall when all the leaves are changing colors.

Our neighbor at the holidays house in Italy is a fish mad,he is obsessed with fishing as much my husband is obsessed with hunting.on the beach or on the balcony(we can see each other)he is always making bites with hooks and feathers .Reading your blog might give me some knowledge about fishing so I will stop torturing him with questions?he is not a chatter….he might thank you😂

  2. So do you ice fish then? Or fish in the cold? My brother was an avid fly fisher and i was given his stuff when he passed. Hopefully there will be time this Spring. to find some streams. Ten years is a long time missing him. 💙🕊

    • “If fishing is religion, fly fishing is high church.” Tom Brokaw. I am getting back into fly fishing. It doesn’t get cold enough here to ice fish. Lakes will freeze but not enough. I fish from a kayak. I am sorry to hear about your brother. I hope you find some streams to fish. Here in Missouri we are blessed with some beautiful streams. We have good trout fishing and some excellent smallmouth fishing which is my favorite. Every year in the spring I do a little ritual for all the fishing buddies I have lost through the years. I will add your brother to that list.

      • Oh wow! 😥💙🕊 thank you. Yes… catching a smallmouth…yeehaw! And trout are plain-spoken, beautiful fish! Might need one lesson on fly-fishing, but i have enough bodily rhythm. I think i have this. Yes to keeping the spirit of fishing alive in hearts and minds. And good luck! 👍🏼🎶 will be moving to Boston, so close to Maine and Penn. 👏🏻 blessings!

      • I have wanted to ever since receiving John’s poles and fly-tying equipment. It is my first priority once moved and job search in Boston is over. The sport fits my personality to a T!!! I will be battling the tears, memories, the longing of his smile… but the babbling brook will assure me “All is Well!” 💙🕊🎶🎶🎶

      • I know it will be tough. I lost my fishing buddy of 20 years and that first trip was rough. If you find the courage to do it your brother will be there beside you and you will know by the peace that comes over you. Go for it! He will be smiling. I am pulling for you in your new adventure.

I told to one my follower here on WP that I love watching ppl (observe) at the bakery.. and she told me that I have to watch men fishing lol but I said to her – there’s nothing to watch, they r just standing there haha… but I guess they dont 🙂 I’ve promised to observe ppl who r fishing some day..
